The first-ever autojumble to take place in Roscommon Town will be held this Sunday, the 17th of April in Roscommon Business Park on Racecourse Road. What is an autojumble, I hear many of you ask? Well, it’s basically a car boot sale for vintage and classic vehicle enthusiasts, a meeting where traders and enthusiasts bring along vintage items for sale. It’s not all about vehicle parts either – there will be old tools, farm equipment and lots of vintage household items like tilly lamps, radios, vinyl records and similar items. This unique event is being organised by the Mountbellew Vintage Club, who are based in and around the north Galway town of Mountbellew; the club have chosen Roscommon as a very central and accessible venue to attract enthusiasts from all over Ireland. The event will open to the public from 10am, admission will be €5 per person, and all proceeds will go towards the club’s restoration of a 1924 Aveling & Porter steam roller.

The club wish to invite you all along for a look, and who knows – you might buy a piece of nostalgia and become a vintage enthusiast yourself. For more details on the event, call Eugene on 087 6401972.
