Double Duty

With a fast and rare Alpina C2 2.7 Touring for bringing to shows and a menacing 2.8-powered 320i saloon for driving every day, you could say that Davy Salley is an E30 BMW nut. However, even a little time spent in and around his cars is enough to make an E30 fan out of any car enthusiast.

Two-Tone Blacktop

The ‘Corsair’ name is associated with the world of pirates, swift-sailing yachts and fast fighter ‘planes; it is therefore no wonder that when Ford wanted to name their futuristic-looking sixties saloon it was their badge of choice. And, when Philip Walsh caught the classic bug a good while back, there was only classic for him.

Little Demon

The dictionary definition of ‘Imp’ is “a small, lesser demon”, or alternatively “to furnish with wings”. Either definition fits this ‘73 Hillman Imp, which has a look that would make it at home flying down any street or racetrack alike following a competition-style revamp.

Vanilla Pod

Having had a hankering for a classic Beetle for years, Paul McEnery was lucky enough to eventually find a local car right on his own doorstep. However, a solid year of work was needed to get it to the beautiful condition you see here, involving a steep learning curve along the way.

Escort Service

Looking at the current line-up of RS cars from Ford you’d be forgiven for thinking that the RS cars were always hot hatchbacks. Of course, they weren’t, and Karl Ruffley’s stunning Mk2 Escort RS2000 takes us back to when they were ‘proper’ rear-wheel-drive machines.

Sting in the Tail

The Chevrolet Corvette is very much a car that you either ‘get’ or ‘don’t get’, as it’s styling, although undoubtedly dramatic, isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. However, we reckon Arthur O’Conner’s tastefully-modified example would appeal to any car enthusiast with a heartbeat.

Hillbilly Hauler

After the runaway popularity of our last cover feature on the air-ride ’55 Chevy pickup we’ve decided to bring you another 3100 model, this time a far more sweet and subtle ’54 that goes to show that these iconic vehicles don’t need much changed to look cool.
