March 2020 Issue of Irish Vintage Scene

It’s only a matter of days before the March issue of Irish Vintage Scene hits the shelves, having reached our subscribers by post on Friday. The cover story on a really cherished Fiat 600D is one that I particularly enjoyed writing, as the experiences of its owner mirror my own. He bought the little Fiat in his early teens as a project, but only recently got its restoration completed, having never relinquished it over the years; I, too, was given an old car in my early teens, a VW Beetle belonging to a friend of my grandfather’s, and after almost thirty years it’s still not finished, but safely stored in my garage nonetheless. It just goes to show that, once you never let go of the dream, it can come true in the end…

We have a number of other great restoration stories in our new issue, including the most stunning Morris Minor Traveller you’re likely to see, a Mk2 Volkswagen Golf Van resurrected from the grave and even a classic Bamfords dung spreader that’s been rebuilt to as-new condition. It certainly is a varied hobby! Show reports include the Portlaoise Indoor Classic Show, IVVCC Brass Brigade Run, the Spirit of Dunboyne motorsport festival, the rescheduled Kilbroney Vintage Show and more. So, keep an eye out for the March 2020 issue of Irish Vintage Scene, due to hit the shop shelves at the end of this week. Andrew Pollock, Editor
