Description

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO A PRINTING ERROR THIS MONTH, SOME OF THE CONTENTS PICTURED ON THE COVER ARE NOT CORRECT FOR THIS ISSUE. OUR APOLOGIES FOR ANY CONFUSION CAUSED.

The September 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 148) is now on sale. Our cover star this month was once a commonplace, garden-variety family car, but is now very rare – not only is this orange beauty an original Irish Toyota Starlet KP60, but it’s survived in mint, low-mileage condition to this day, making it a unique proposition. Our second feature car is another family hatch from the same period, a Mk3 Ford Escort that’s one family’s keepsake of a sorely-missed young man, while we also look at an Irish-assembled 1950 Morris Minor that was once a demo car for assemblers Brittain’s in Dublin. Our first feature tractor this month is an outstanding Ford 3000 restored by an owner with an eye for correct details, while our second feature takes a look at a well-worn, but unusual in this country, Holder forestry tractor. Our motorcycle feature this month is something of rare beauty, an ex-German postal Heinkel Tourist scooter complete with mail trailer, and our commercial vehicle feature looks at the military Volkswagen Iltis, the father of the Audi Quattro family. Event reports in this issue include Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally, the Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Car Run, the Shamrock Car & Machinery Show, MAAC American Auto Show and lots more, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your September 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
