Description

The July 2019 issue of Irish Vintage Scene is now on sale, and our cover story this month looks at one Mercedes W123 owner’s approach to making his 230E more usable on a very regular basis – instead of buying a diesel he simply converted his car to 240D specification! Our second feature car is a real rarity on these shores, a 1950s Simca Aronde that was discovered in amazingly original and low-mileage condition in its native France and which has only recently moved to a new home in Ireland. Our main tractor feature this month tells the story of a 1959 Fordson Dexta that’s been in the same family since almost new, and was restored from ‘Laid to Rust’ condition in the last few years, while our second tractor follows on from last month’s issue in being yet another unique Ferguson TE20, this time Ford-powered and four-wheel-drive courtesy of its owner. In our motorcycle feature we delve into the classic BSA and Royal Enfields of a former bike racer, and our featured commercial vehicle is a beautiful Fordson Thames pickup restored with the help of the owner’s good friends. Event reports in this issue include the Swords Classic Car Show & Sale, the Wexford Spring Challenge and more besides, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your July 2019 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
