Description

The September 2019 issue of Irish Vintage Scene is now on sale, and our cover story this month tells the story of an Irish-assembled 1969 VW Beetle that’s been in the same family since new, and is soon to embark to a new home in Australia to be cared for by the next generation. Our second car feature focuses on a contentious issue for many, and that’s the advent of electric-converted classic cars, as we drop into the launch of a new Irish-based car company that will sell a range of classics propelled by electrons alone. Our main tractor feature this month documents the outstanding restoration of a Massey Ferguson 135 from very neglected condition, while our second revisits the launch of the Ford 1000 series 55 years ago when we look at a 4000 that’s been in the same ownership for over three decades. In our motorcycle feature we showcase an amazingly original Honda CB550 with less than 2,500 miles on the clock, and our featured commercial vehicle is a freshly-restored Ford Escort Mk2 van. Event reports in this issue include the Innishannon Steam & Vintage Rally, Malahide Classic & Vintage Show, Louth County Show, Eyrecourt Vintage Rally, the Norman Pratt Classic Run and more besides, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your September 2019 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
