Description

The August issue of Irish Vintage Scene is on sale now, and as you’d expect it is packed with over 100 pages of news, event reports, great features and a whole lot more. On the cover this month is a gorgeous example of one of the most stylish small cars of all time; this Riley Elf was assembled by Booth-Poole in Dublin in 1968, and is just part of a fascinating collection of cars owned by a Co. Meath enthusiast that also includes a post-war Hillman Minx and Ford Capri Mk1. We also take a look at two very different, but equally beautiful, MGs; a stunning and freshly-restored MGC GT and a race little 1934 P-Type with a unique history. An extremely rare Commer Cob van also features, which has recently emerged from a restoration of epic proportions.

A Triton café racer with Dresda connections is sure to get motorcycle enthusiasts hot and bothered, while on the classic tractor front we visit the Clarke family to check out their collection, which includes a David Brown 990, Zetor 2511 and more than a few Masseys. We also head to Monaghan to see a Massey Ferguson 565 that has been in the same family for two decades, and has recently been restored to impeccable condition. Event report this month come from the 2012 Pioneer Run, Carole Nash Classic Car & Motorcycle Live, the NEVCC Mosney Car Show, the Innishannon Steam Rally and the Limerick, Clonmel and Kilbroney classic car shows, plus a roundup of lots of other events from all over the country. Add to this our usual mix of club news, diary dates, readers’ correspondence, model section, period photos and, of course, Laid to Rust, and you’ve got another jam-packed issue of Ireland’s finest motoring magazine. Don’t miss out; get your August issue of Irish Vintage Scene today in any good newsagents,
