Description

Buy the October issue of Irish Vintage Scene here, as usual it’s packed from cover to cover with all of the best club news, features and event reports. Heading up our features this month is a beautiful rarity; this Mercedes 280SE Coupe is an original Dublin car, and has only recently emerged from a restoration spanning over a decade. We also take a look at the ultimate sidevalve Ford, a V8 Pilot, while a Series III Land Rover with a family history also gets a look in. Vintage car fans will be fascinated by our feature on a unique 1930 Star Comet; these cars are rare on the ground, to say the least, but this one is one-of-a-kind as it was built for company owner Sir Sidney Guy, complete with a larger engine and other special features.

On the commercial side of things we take a trip down memory lane with an absolutely pristine Fordson E83W pickup, while an award-winning Heinkel Tourist restoration is our two-wheeled feature this month. Classic tractor fans will be intrigued by our feature on a remote-controlled (yes, really) Massey Ferguson 250, while a rare Pre-Force Ford 5000 Super Major and a line-up of Overtime tractors round out our feature stories this month. Although the end of the year is approaching there is still plenty going on on the event scene too, and we carry a varied range of reports stretching from Ballymena to Cork City and lots more besides. Add to this our usual mix of club news, diary dates, readers’ letters, period photos, our ever-popular model section and, of course, ‘Laid to Rust’, and you have yourself another bumper edition of Ireland’s finest motoring magazine.
