Alfa Male

Alfa Romeos – if you’re into them, you’re really, really into them. For years Luis De Jesus’ hobby has been restoring classic Alfas in a small garage beside his house, and this month we look at a GT Junior that he’s filled with upgrades for regular use.

Swede Dreams

Joining forces in 1950, the mighty industrial operations of Bolinder-Munktell (BM) and Volvo were and still are very well-known in the plant and construction equipment sector. However their tractors aren’t as familiar, at least in Ireland, making this stunning T650 a rare treat.

A Shared Passion

The classic car hobby is one that has an appeal that crosses the generations, as evidenced by father-and-son team Matt and Cathal Keane from Co. Galway, who derive a lot of enjoyment from their Mk2 Ford Consuls.

Combination Wrench

Although once a viable and effective military vehicle, not to mention an alternative to a small family car in peacetime, motorcycle sidecar combinations are very-much an oddity today, and never fail to draw a crowd. Seamus Malone’s has been particularly admired at shows around the country in the last year or two.

Classic Cargo

Like the saloon upon which it was based, the Mk1 Ford Escort van was a popular and well-liked machine, mating good driving dynamics with a decent load capacity. However they are pretty rare today. This one has recently come full circle back to where it was first sold in 1969.
