Capri Son

Capri-SonEven though it was a mainstream production car, from the start the Ford Capri was available in a myriad of different versions that made it possible to tailor it to your exact needs or tastes. There’s a Capri for everyone, and in Bernie Kilbride’s case, his ideal is his beautifully-restored Mk1 1600 GT XLR.

The DIY Project

The-DIY-ProjectBack in 1965 Peter Sweeney invested in a brand-new Massey Ferguson 135, which put in loyal service on his farm up to 1986, when it was eventually traded in for a newer and larger tractor. However, in 2011 it was retraced and bought back into the family, who recently restored it to its former glory.

Baxter’s Original

Baxters-OriginalOriginality means different things to different people, ranging from ‘restored to original condition’ to ‘this is what I think they used to look like’, or even ‘I’ll say so in the ad and put the price up a few hundred quid.’ But, for lifelong classic car enthusiast Stanley Baxter, original means ORIGINAL! In this eightieth anniversary year of the VW Beetle, his is a beautiful example of the species.

Back in Blue

Back-in-BlueHeading for fifty years old, this Ford 4000 worked hard throughout its career, both in its early days in England and here in Ireland after its importation in the eighties. However, its owners of thirty years recently treated it to a full restoration to return it to its former glory.

Jack Of All Trades

Jack-Of-All-TradesWell over a century ago, Edoardo Bianchi started out in business with a successful line of bicycles, one that continues today in the highest echelons of bike racing. However, his talent for engineering also led him into the manufacture of not only cars, but also motorcycles, including this original Irish Bernina 125.

Tipping the Balance

Tipping-the-BalanceA product of the only Irish foray into truck manufacturing, this Dennison 265 is thought to be the only one of its kind, a double-drive tractor unit with the capability of switching to a rigid tipper when required. It’s been restored in recent years, and now has pride of place in Dennison’s own collection.
