Set in the Co. Westmeath village of Rathowen, this year’s annual Streete Vintage Show was held on Sunday the 14th of July in the lovely venue of Streete Parish Park, with clear skies and temperatures in the high twenties. Shane Cranney was there with his camera and suncream to record the event for Irish Vintage Scene, and brings us these photos.
This year’s Riverstown Vintage Festival on the 2nd of June was held at the usual venue at Sligo Folk Park, which is a really great spot for such an event with lots of attractions in its own right. Patrick Mullan was there for Irish Vintage Scene to bring you these photos.
The Erne Vintage Car Club’s main run of the year was based at the Killyhevlin Hotel from the 16th to the 18th of August this year. Patrick Mullan was there, camera in hand, to bring us these photos from the event.
In 2012 84 tractors converged on Ballinasloe, Co. Galway for an event held by the Ballinasloe & District Vintage Club, which aimed to set a record for the largest number of vintage finger-bar mowers working in one field at the same time.

The Neal Egan Show & Run is probably the most anticipated event on the Irish classic Ford calendar. This year’s took place in bright sunshine on the 4th of August, and Patrick Mullan was there for Retro Classics, camera in hand.
Held in Connolly Barracks in Longford Town, this year’s Longford Vintage Club Festival on the 2nd of June was positively bustling with exhibits, and the main gate saw large numbers of the general public pay a visit to see our hobby. This year’s Ballymena Carfest took place in the Co. Antrim town on the 8th of June last, and was a huge success with an amazing turnout of vehicles of all kinds. Stephen McEvoy was there for Irish Vintage Scene, and brings us these photos from the day.
Every two years the Fingal Vintage Society’s show in North County Dublin wows classic car, tractor and commercial enthusiasts with its massive static displays, extensive working areas and range of family attractions. The 2013 event took place on the 27th and 28th of July last, and as you can see from Shane Cranney’s photos, it was a real cracker.

The Garden of Ireland Vintage& Classic Car Club will hold their “Annual Run” in the spectacular scenic hills & dales of Wicklow.
As the September 31st deadline for the off -the-road declaration for motor tax draws closer there has been a small change in the way that the system is being handled. This is due to the tax offices being totally overwhelmed with work. As outlined previously, if you have a vehicle in your name there is no change; by the 31st of September it either needs to be tax or declared off the road, or you will be liable for penalties going forward. After the 31st you will no longer be able to go to the Garda station to declare it off the road.
