The organisers of the ever-popular Gerard Murphy Memorial Classic Show & Run in Co. Wexford have announced that, due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 situation, they had decided not to hold their event on the 3rd of October as previously planned. “We are very sorry about this, but it is in everybody’s interest and safety,” they explained on their Facebook page. “The next event will take place on the first Sunday of October 2022. We look forward to meeting everyone again in 2022.”
It goes without saying that we at Irish Vintage Scene are disappointed the Gerard Murphy run and show won’t be going ahead, but can completely understand their decision given that this event has become one of the largest of its kind in the country, regularly attracting well over a thousand participating vehicles. We wish the Murphy family the best of luck with next year’s event, and look forward to seeing them again out and about at some shows very soon.
