Irish Escort Owners Club Swapmeet

The Irish Escort Owners Club calendar of events is packed enough every year with various shows, runs and meets, but on the 2nd of February last they held a new format of event for the club; their first swapmeet. Pat Mullan headed to the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon to check it out for Retro Classics.

Atlones own David O Learys 1984 Capri  cloaked a 24V Cosworth engine under the bonnett. Bang Tidy or what!
Dont ask me why we have a fasination with all things small. There was a nice selection here to choose from.
Evidence of some heay lifting lay at the side door of the hotel with its partner ontow. we just AKA Jack.
When i took a look at all the cars in the car park i still coundnt resist this MK 1 in Red. Having been reared in the back seat of one of these sticks.
For those early MK 1 Mexico
Here is one example that you can definately call a practical classic.
I never seen a wheel barrow with a steering wheel on it before but the note says Wheelbarrow Not For Sale.

Amongs all of Thomas Hanlons panels lay this MK 1 Capri project originally sprayed in FAS by Phase 2 Apprenticses in Sligo 20 years ago.
