Limerick Classic & Vintage Car Club Show 2012

The scorching weather on the 27th of May brought vintage, classic and retro car owners from all over the country out in force to mark the 20th installment of the Limerick Classic & Vintage Car Club’s annual show.

The Unigolf complex, near the University of Limerick campus, was thronged with hundreds of cherished motors throughout the day, ranging from gleaming, elegant fifties classics to rusty, tongue-in-cheek VWs, and anything else you could think of, too. Amazing feats of two-wheeled skill were to be seen in the centrally-placed trials motorcycle demonstrations, while Irish Vintage Scene were heading up the trade stand area, flying the flag for our sister magazine, Retro Classics with two fabulous former feature cars on display: Padraig Kelleher’s Porsche 356 and Trevor Brady’s Audi 80. This event has become especially known for its gathering of air and water-cooled VW enthusiasts over the years, and these were out in considerable numbers, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of this consistently excellent event; see the pages of both Irish Vintage Scene and Retro Classics soon for full reports.
