Description

Up front on the cover of the April 2024 edition of Irish Vintage Scene is a tiny, Irish-assembled classic car that’s been a part of the same family since 1952! Although it spent decades off the road, this Fiat Topolino 500C moved around the country with its owners as they always had intentions to restore it, and this finally came to pass in the last few years, producing a beautiful result. Our second feature car is another Irish-assembled model, this time a 1955 Wolseley 4/44, a model that comes from a time of great upheaval within the ailing Wolseley company as it moved from Nuffield to BMC ownership. This rare Irish survivor was restored about fifteen years ago, but is still looking, and motoring, just as well today.

This month’s tractor feature tells the story of a 1969 Ford 4000 that not only was a satisfying first restoration for its owner, but also developed some great friendships for both himself and his young son.  Our commercial feature showcases a 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser from Australia that is quite simply the best restoration of its type that we’ve ever seen, while our featured motorcycle is a Yamaha XS650, a model that really put Yamaha on the map in the 1970s and 1980s with its British twin-style engine.

Lots of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out!
