Description

The July to September 2016 issue of Retro Classics Magazine is now on sale, and as always is packed with features and event reports from the world of classic, retro and motorsport cars in Ireland. This time around the cover is graced by a simply stunning Mk1 Escort that packs both show and go thanks to a smooth engine bay, Vauxhall XE on Jenvey throttle bodies, and a plethora of top-notch hardware. It’s been a dream build for its Co. Kerry-based owner, and took a prominent prize at the recent Limerick Classic Car Show. Sticking with the Ford theme, our editor chimes in this time with his finally-completed Mk1 Fiesta 1600 and we look at one reader’s fun Escort/Anglia combo. It’s not all Fords though, as we also showcase a wild bike-carbed Fiat X1/9 hillclimb car, a retro-cool Datsun 280Z, a very individual VW Derby, and bring you a special feature on Japanese-powered Minis with both a Honda VTEC- and Toyota turbo-powered example. Events-wise we have coverage from all over the island, from the Loughgall Festival of Motorsport to the Kilbeggan American show to the Copper Coast Challenge and many more, and we also inform you on what to look out for when buying a BMW E30, a once-underrated classic that’s now on the up. Throw in News & Products, Diary Dates and club listings and you’re left with another packed issue.
