The Goddess

2015 marks the 60th anniversary of probably the most radical, unique and important road-going saloon car ever put into production. The DS, a model name that cleverly played on the French word ‘déesse’, or ‘goddess’, put Citroen at the forefront of automotive innovation worldwide, and its impact has scarcely lessened to this day.

Gold Medal

No matter if you call it the “Gold Belly”, “Copper Belly” or “Grey-Gold”, the FE-35 is one of the most admired of all vintage Fergusons nowadays, with a very short production run making them a pretty rare sight today. Liam Brennan’s certainly does the model proud.

Kabine Fever

A lift to his apprenticeship in a Kabine every morning saw Mick Reilly grow up with a keen interest in Heinkels, but not enough to see him attempt to drive his beautifully-restored example on today’s roads! We can’t say we blame him…

Mixed Fortunes

The British bike industry was once in such bad shape that people once joked that you could buy a manufacturer cheaper than buying one of their bikes. And so it was that AMC (Amalgamated Motor Cycles) came to own such classic marques as AJS, Villiers, Norton and Matchless, two of which had input into the N15 CS ‘Hybrid’.

National Champion

Once numerous at marts, horse races and farms all over the country (and all over the world), the BJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser has become a rare and treasured classic today thanks to the ravages of rust and rough handling. Alan Agar’s stunning example is an even rarer factory long-wheelbase model.
