Tipperary Light Car & Motorcycle Club

The vintage and veteran section of the Tipperary Light Car & Motorcycle Club attended the Pride of Tipperary Show on Saturday the 14th of July. Some of the town’s shop fronts also rolled back the years, and there was plenty of period clothing in evidence to match the cars. Emily Foyle brought us some great photos from the event, as can be seen here.

The High Nelly is a symbol of former times in Ireland. It revolutionised life not just in rural areas but also in towns and on city streets. It was a means of transport to school and to work, to sporting fixtures and to dances, to church services and to romantic liasions. Modern bicycles have attained a high degree of sophistication but very few will give the long years of service that the High Nelly bicycles have given.
