DURROW 2011

Traditionally the season-opener for a great many vintage and classic enthusiasts, the Durrow Vintage Rally didn’t disappoint this time around on the 17th of April, with the Co. Laois venue once again packed from end to end with all manner of vehicles and displays. The first year that the event has enjoyed the traffic relief of the new Cork/Dublin motorway, there was a steady flow of classics streaming into the site from early on, making it clear from the outset that this event was to be as well-supported as ever. The extensive autojumble in particular was very impressive, with everything from imperial nuts and bolts to classic tractor projects on sale. The awarding of trophies for the best display in each category rounded off a very enjoyable day; for more on this event, watch out for the June issue of Irish Vintage Scene, on sale from the 20th of May.
