MAXIMUM MIRAFIORI

The Fiat 131 Mirafiori was an instant hit when introduced back in 1974, and until 1984 was without doubt a favourite of the Irish motorist. This month’s cover feature contains no less than nine 131s, varying from an original 1300 Supermirafiori to a motorsport-prepared 16v Abarth. The 131 was a multi-tasker, and as Andrew points out in the article “the Mirafiori was extremely popular in its sector in Ireland throughout the seventies and eighties, and it was as common to see a shiny, specced-up Super swanning around town as it was to see a mucky, rusty L towing a trailer down to the local mart”; a fantastic article about a fantastic car.
