Description

The November 2016 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 126) is on sale now, and this month we’ve pushed the boat out to mark the 40th anniversary of a small family car that’s touched probably every household in the country since 1976 – the Fiesta was Ford’s first foray into the front-drive supermini sector, and what a success it’s been. To celebrate, we not only feature an extremely original 1980 Fiesta that’s never left Co. Clare, but also compare it with the current-model Fiesta and also report on the recent Fiesta 40 event run by Ford at Weston Airport in Dublin. Elsewhere in the magazine we look at two more family favourites of the past, namely the Datsun Cherry and the Renault 4, both of which are rare surviving Irish-assembled examples.

Moving to tractor features, our first looks at an extremely rare petrol-powered Massey-Ferguson 135 vineyard, which is so narrow it has to be seen to be believed, while we also tell the story of the South Donegal Vintage & Heritage Club’s recent restoration of a Ferguson 20, which is going to be raffled for charity in 2018. Our motorcycle feature looks at the history of one of Matchless’ most important models, the G3, while our commercial story looks at a pair of Mk1 Ford Transits that couldn’t be more different from each other. Our long list of show reports includes the Ballymena Steam & Transport Festival, Charleville Vintage Show, Mini Legends NI, Cultra Hillclimb and more besides, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your November 2016 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today!
