Description

Fronting the June 2023 issue of Irish Vintage Scene is an Austin 1800 that’s been tailor-made to suit its owner, after its extensive restoration using a haul of new-old-stock parts that included an entire bodyshell! It’s been upgraded to twin-carb 1800S spec too, so it goes as well as it looks. Our second featured car is, as far as we are aware, the only Oakland in the country – this vintage beauty from 1929 is very well known in its native Kerry, as it was owned for decades by none other than the late PJ O’Riordan, a stalwart of The Kingdom Veteran, Vintage & Classic Car Club.

This month’s featured tractor is a Massey Ferguson 135 that has been in the same Co. Longford family from new, after it was bought from the Longford Arms Motor Works in the town in 1973. Its fiftieth birthday is just around the corner, and this will be celebrated at its appearance at the Streete Vintage Show this June 25th. Our featured motorbike is a truly unique hybrid that’s half Zundapp Bella, half Piaggio X9, while our commercial feature showcases an extremely rare, original Irish 1976 Hino KM that’s recently been restored by an enthusiast in Co. Limerick.
