Description

Leading the July 2023 issue of Irish Vintage Scene are two of the very finest sixties Beetles in the country, both pampered by the same lucky owner. It’s a case of having the best of both worlds, as one has been fastidiously restored to new condition while the other is a phenomenally original, never-welded example that still smells like new inside! These two beauties will be gracing the Irish Vintage Scene stand at the upcoming Classic Fest at Galway Racecourse on July 2nd, as will our second featured car, a 1961 Jaguar Mk2 3.4 that’s been a passion project for its owner over the last ten years as he tweaks and improves it for maximum reliability and usability.

This month’s featured tractor is a now rarely-seen Marshall 802, a relic of British Leyland’s foray into the tractor market, while our featured motorbike is a very unusual 1931 Raleigh that’s been with its owner since the late 1970s, but has only recently come in for its time on the restoration bench. Our heavy vehicle feature this month is special as it showcases two very well-restored WW2 vehicles residing in Galway – this International half track and 1944 Willys MB jeep became icons of the Allied forces during that conflict, and we will also be delighted to have these two fascinating machines on display at Classic Fest on July 2nd. Lots of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out.
