The September issue of Irish Vintage Scene is on sale now, and as usual it’s packed with over 100 pages of news, event reports, great features and a whole lot more. On the cover this month is a real reunion story, where a 1957 Ford Prefect has been tracked down and restored by the same man that bought it as a runaround way back in 1960! Incredibly this isn’t the only such tale we have this month, as our second feature concerns a VW Karmann Ghia from Newry that has also found itself back with its previous owner some thirty years after he’d sold it! We also take a look at three fine examples of Fiat’s 127, including an original Irish Series 1, while our commercial feature this month outlines the efforts that one enthusiast went to in restoring a Volvo F88 to outstanding condition.

Motorcycle fans are in for a treat as we take a look at a serious rarity, a 1930 Rudge Whitworth Ulster; the RWU was a serious performance machine in its day, with a pedigree born out of racing and top-speed records. On the classic tractor front we head to Co. Kilkenny to check out a John Deere 1020, one of the New Generation of Deeres launched to replace the famous two-cylinder ‘popping Johnnies’, plus we bring you the restoration story behind a beautiful Massey Ferguson 135. On the events front this month there’s a lot going on, as we have coverage of top events like the Irish Vintage & Classic Motorshow at Terenure, the Gordon Bennett International Rally, Shane’s Castle Steam Rally, the Gordon Bennett Classic Car Run, the Ulster Vintage Commercial Vehicle Club Run, Charleville Vintage Show and the Loughgall Historic Rally, plus lots more besides in our Event Roundup section. Add to this our usual mix of club news, diary dates, readers’ correspondence, model section, period photos and, of course, Laid to Rust, and you’ve got another jam-packed issue of Ireland’s finest motoring magazine.
