Reis Race Retro

It’s been some time since I attended Race Retro. Back then I thought it was the best event I had ever travelled to, and sure enough it now holds the title of Europe’s number-one historic motorsport show. Run by Clarion Events, Reis Race Retro take place in Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, England over the weekend of the 24th to 26th of February and encapsulates all aspects of motorsport, so no matter what your interest in historic motorsport is, you’re sure to be entertained all weekend at Race Retro. As well as a massive static display, a large varied trade and exhibition area and a live stage where you are sure to see some motorsport legends being interviewed, there are two outdoor live stages where over 120 Group A and B cars are put to the test.

One lasting memory I have of the event is that there is so much to see and do – the days are packed, and the organisers always have so many attractions and features to check out. The 2023 event is no different, and one of the many features this year that I’d certainly like to see is the reawakening of British Racing Motors (BRM), Britain’s original F1 team, which will be celebrated in all its glory. Getting up close to some of BRM’s cars and meeting some of the drivers of these historic machines is not something an F1 fan gets to do too often.

Reis Race Retro is always a star-studded event, and so you’re sure to meet a driver or two during the weekend. This year’s guest list already includes Jason Plato, Louise Aitken-Walker, David Llewelyn and his son Tom, and you will see these and other interviewed on the live stage.  And, not to be forgotten and sure to make the headlines this year is the Silverstone Auction, which takes place on the the Friday and Saturday; more on this elsewhere in this newsletter.
