Description

The May 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 144) is now on sale, and on the cover this month is a serious rarity, as it’s quite possibly the only surviving original-Irish Mk1 Ford Granada Coupe. This 3.0-litre Ghia was rescued from years lying in very poor condition, and has been restored to its former glory by an ardent Granada enthusiast. Our second feature car is similarly luxurious, but this time with an American flavour, as we look at one fan’s obsession with his stunning 1965 Cadillac De Ville Convertible. Continuing with a North-American theme, our first feature tractor is a very imposing, Canadian-built Massey Ferguson 1135, while our second is another Ferguson, but much smaller, a TE20 that received a Perkins P3 engine conversion in period. Our motorcycle feature this month looks at a rarely-seen 1920s Montgomery 150 with a long family history to it, while our heavy-vehicle feature recounts the tale behind a unique Limerick-based Leyland FG with a very neat, matching trailer. Event reports include a bumper report on the recent Carole Nash RIAC Classic Car Show at the RDS, plus the Lancaster Insurance NEC Classic Motorshow and McKibbin Brothers Working Day, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your May 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
