Description

The October 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 149) is now on sale, and the cherished classic featured on our cover this month is yet another family car that’s practically disappeared from view nowadays; this low-mileage Vauxhall Viva HC was one of the many assembled in McCairn’s of Santry in its day, and looks fantastic now following a light restoration in the recent past. Our second feature car is certainly not a family car, but this unrestored MGB Roadster has a long family history as it’s remained with its first owner all its life, while we also look at an unusual Fiat 1500C that shows how ahead of the game Fiat were in the 1960s. Our main feature tractor this month is a Ferguson TE20 half-track, also in one family from new, while our second tractor feature takes a look into the past with the reminiscences of a former Northern Irish farm machinery agency. Our featured motorcycle this month is a stunning Ariel Model C from 1928, and our commercial vehicle feature looks at an AEC Mercury that, once again, is in one Kilkenny family from new. Event reports in this issue include the IVVCC Gordon Bennett Rally, Tullow Vintage Show, Picnic in the Park and lots more, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your October 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
