Description

The November 2019 issue of Irish Vintage Scene is now on sale, and our cover story this month celebrates one of this year’s most important anniversaries, and that’s the sixtieth birthday of the one and only Mini. To mark the occasion, we visit one Mini-mad family from Tipperary and their amazing collection, which includes a super-rare, unrestored Austin Seven version from the first twelve months of Irish Mini assembly in 1959 and 1960. Our second car feature is another anniversary, this time forty years of the unique Mercedes G-Wagen, and in a bonus third car feature we also delve into the history of a storied, Irish-assembled oval-window VW Beetle from 1956.

Our main tractor feature this month outlines the top-notch restoration of a 1964 David Brown Implematic based in childhood nostalgia, while our second tractor is a highly original and largely unrestored 1979 Ford 2600 that’s up for raffle for charity in Co. Kerry in November. Our featured motorcycle this month is a very tasteful 1979 Honda CB650 that’s been rebuilt into a very tasteful café racer, and our featured commercial vehicle is an ERF LV tractor unit from 1969. Event reports in this issue include the Mountbellew Vintage Show, the IVVCC Gordon Bennett Rally, Trim V&V Show and more besides, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your November 2019 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order (or subscribe) here online!
