Description

The 150th issue of Irish Vintage Scene, the November 2018 edition is now on sale, and the cherished classic on this month’s cover is an example of a car that was truly iconic in its time, but which has only truly been accepted as a classic car in recent years – this Ford Escort XR3 is still in very original condition, having been cherished by its first owner. Our second feature car is something rather different, a 1970 Morris Minor 1000 that served its time as a police panda car, and retains that theme today. We also look at an original Dublin-registered 1929 MG Midget M-Type, which went through several owners over the decades before its restoration was finally completed. Our main feature tractor this month tells the story of one enthusiast’s close bond with his pair of early Ferguson 20s, while our second is the unusual tale of the restoration of a Lanz Bulldog 2206, but without the knowledge of its owner! Our featured motorcycles this month are a beautiful duo of Yamaha AS1s restored by two friends, and our commercial vehicle feature looks at a Land Rover 90 commercial that’s been rebuilt by a Kerry vintage club and is now first prize in a raffle for charity – tickets are still available! Event reports in this issue include the Irish Classic & Vintage Motorshow in Terenure, Charleville Vintage Rally, the Ulster Festival of Steam & Transport and lots more besides, and all of the usual favourites are in there too, so don’t miss out – get your November 2018 issue of Irish Vintage Scene today at any good newsagent, or order here online!
