Description

The April 2013 edition of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 83) is on sale now, and as you’ve come to expect is packed with a wide variety of fascinating features. On the cover this month is just one of the classic cars that is celebrating an important birthday this year; the Triumph 2000 is fifty years old in 2013, and to mark the occasion we’ve tracked down an original, unrestored Dublin Mk1 with a unique story behind it. Elsewhere in the magazine we visit a Mini fam from Co. Donegal, who has in his garage a beautifully-upgraded Mini Van, a convertible Riley Elf and even a Mini limousine; a unique collection indeed!

Our tractor features this month showcase two real rarities. The first is a Marshall 602, not exactly the most common of models at the shows, which has recently been restored to absolutely impeccable condition, while the other comes from a manufacturer that’s almost unheard-of here in Ireland; this Schluter E7800TV is a real monster, with a 7.2-litre turbocharged straight-six pumping out 165hp. Impressive stuff for 1979!

Motorcycle enthusiasts are in for a dose of nostalgia when they read our feature on a Heinkel Tourist scooter, one of the most fondly-remembered two-wheelers of sixties Ireland, while our commercial story looks at an unusual (for Ireland) Mercedes 306D, a seventies truck that can trace its lineage back to the Tempo Matador of the 1950s.

Our usual long list of event reports is headed up this month by a special four-page report on the recent RIAC National Classic Car Show in the RDS, Dublin, which was a massive success on its first time out. With all this, plus our usual attractions like Laid to Rust, Your Letters, News & Events and lots, lots more, you won’t want to miss the April 2013 issue of Irish Vintage Scene; get yours today!
