Description

The May 2013 issue of Irish Vintage Scene (Issue 84) is on sale now, and as always is packed full with a varied selection of top-quality features. On the cover this month is one of the most recognisable classic sports cars of all time. In fact, the Morgan 4/4 is the world’s longest-running single model, and has seen precious little change in over fifty years. The 1960 Series II featured this month was acquired by its current owner as a jumbled heap of corroded parts, but an intensive three-year restoration saw it returned to the stunning condition you see here.

Elsewhere in the magazine we mark the fiftieth anniversary of the end of production of one of Ford’s rarest models nowadays, the transatlantic-styled Consul Classic 315, while our tractor features are two really great stories, as they contain two tractors that were quite literally dug out of the ground! One of these, an Allis Chalmers WC, was restored to amazing condition, while the other, a David Brown 25D, runs like a clock but has been preserved in its unearthed condition! We also travel to Clare to look at a fine motorcycle collection and meet with the enthusiastic owner of a classic Bedford J5 truck, so it’s as varied and vibrant an issue as our readers have come to expect.

Our extensive event reports include a visit to the Newcastle Indoor Car Show and the Sparkplug Tractor Road Run, while our News & Events section contains important news on the recently-published Non-Use of Motor Vehicles Bill 2013, which has implications for all vintage and classic vehicle owners. All of this, combined with our regular attractions like Laid to Rust, Retrospect, Model Scene and, of course, Diary Dates, the most comprehensive listing of upcoming events in the country, makes the May 2013 edition of Irish Vintage Scene a must-buy for any vintage and classic vehicle enthusiast. Don’t miss out; get yours today!
