Retro Classics Issue 10

Description

The July to September 2013 issue of Retro Classics Magazine is now on sale, and as always is packed with some of the finest retro and classic cars in Ireland. On the cover is one of the most aggressive American classics you’re ever likely to see in Ireland; this 1969 Chevy Camaro has been highly-modified in a Pro-Street drag-race style, complete with a tuned 7.7-litre V8 under the bonnet and massive Mickey Thompson tyres under the rear, and that’s just for starters. A stunning VW Golf Mk1 also features, which packs a supercharged 2.8 VR6 engine and which really wowed the crowds at the recent DubShed show in Belfast, where it took top honours. Elsewhere in the issue we chat with Tom Sarmento, former chief mechanic on The Dukes of Hazzard TV show, and meet up with the classic rally stars of the Slowly Sideways Ireland group, as well as taking a detailed look at cars as varied as a VW beach buggy, a Mk2 Ford Cortina and a twin-cam Opel Manta A. Rounding off this issue is a plethora of event reports from north and south, including the aforementioned DubShed VW Show, Cultra Hillclimb, Retro Stock, the Killarney Rally of the Lakes, Loughgall Motorsport Festival, the MAAC and GAScc American car shows, the Limerick VW Show and many others, plus a buyer’s guide on the BMW 2002, an extensive listing of upcoming diary dates and lots, lots more.
